Ruth Borum-Loveland was born in 1982 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She studied art at the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a BFA in 2005. She has maintained a working studio since 2005, and has exhibited work in Oklahoma, Chicago, New Orleans, and Kansas City. She works as a display artist for Anthropologie and is married with a young son. Her work consists of mixed media two dimensional work as well as functional ceramics. Her techniques are varied. Borum-Loveland’s most recent body of work combines pencil and pen drawings, layering and sanding techniques and acrylic transfer. She describes her work as a “meditation of gratitude, community, love, relationships, and repeating, altering, and multiplying the good in our lives”.
