Dan Budnik lived in Long Island's south fork on and off from 1964 to 1976 where he photographed many of his subjects. Among his subjects are now internationally known artists who also have connections to this area.
The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art was recently able to acquire and show Budnik's collection: Picturing Artists: Photographs by Dan Budnik. This impressive collection of photographs is meant to give an alternative perspective of artists and their work. Budnik's photographs offer an intimate look into where artists work, live, and create.
